My Clients Versus Capitalism

My clients know that privacy is among my highest priorities as a reader. I explain to every new client the ways I’ll keep their confidences confidential.
So while I wont talk about any client or student in particular, I do know that the folks I work with are…of a type.
When I meet them, they’re often busy. They direct non-profits. They lead academic and artistic thought. They work in fast-paced, high power corporate offices where snack boxes full of performance-optimizing, protein-laden chips are a prominent feature of the employee lounge.
Yes, they’re almost always Black, though I see plenty of Brown and white folks as well. Yes, they’re generally queer and trans.
But they’re always people who work hard. Most of them are working hard to move conversations forward, to advance the practices required to build a more just society.
Even when they don’t, they’re people who spend what they earn on mutual aid, community funded projects, and ethical endeavors.
My clients and students are people of integrity, they’re people who strive to live their highest values.
They also have one more thing in common, more often than not:
They’re burnt the fuck OUT!
You see, the people who fall into these first two categories often hold themselves to sky-high standards—one’s no one is born knowing how to reach. They have a big vision, and they don’t mind working long hours that become long years to reach it.
What they don’t realize is that spiritual support is an essential part of staying sane while achieving your goals.
No one praises the person who comes to work without brushing their teeth for a month. Yet we praise people who spend months, even years in burnout.
Why? Because they’re productive!
It’s fucked up, but sometimes persistent cycles of burnout makes people MORE productive. After all, if you’re willing to work even though your body/mind and spirit say “no” then you have to numb out. Then productivity becomes the only thing you can feel.
I’m not with that shit. My work provides potential solutions to interrupting cycles of burnout, through herbalism and earth connection, as well as through identifying burnout before it starts through intuition.
I’ve worked with thousands of and students. What they think of my work matters way more than what I say about it.
A student from my intuitive development membership, Intuitive Strategies Network had this to say:
“Coming into the space I had the intention to relearn tarot through a more political and queer lens, and I am a more grounded reader than ever before. Cyree is such a wonderful and brilliant teacher and I am filled with immense gratitude to be in this community!”
Here’s one from a card reading client:
“As a Black queer & trans person, I felt that most of my reading covered topics that I wouldn’t be able to discuss elsewhere. I left my conversation with Cyree feeling more certain about my divine path forward with my community, as well as next steps for my career.”
Capitalism incentivizes burnout, and makes it inevitable for most of us.
That means I don’t think burnout can be completely eliminated while capitalism exists. But maybe you can learn to move through it with more intention.
That’s what my workshop grounded herbalism can get you started with.
It’s a starting place for the kind of herbalism that helps marginalized folks fight burnout and despair so that their intuitions and body/minds are better resourced during this trying time.
You can learn more about it here👇🏽
No pressure though, happy to chat with you and have an opportunity to introduce you to my work!
If everything feels like a little too much right now, or if you're losing sleep, or if you're losing hope, plant medicine and magic may be able to offer you a respite, or the boost you need to continue to resist.
We'll learn some of the plants that are common in our bioregion that are nervines, which is a kind of herb indicated for stress and burnout. We'll talk about how to know which one is right for you, and work together to identify common needs and desires around them.
Participants can purchase a Nervine Starter Pack here, to try at home, and meet the moment with greater clarity and calm.

Hey, I’m Cyrée
I’m a rootworker, diviner, and clinical herbalist. I believe that spirit work is an essential part of all movements for justice. I hope you’ll take a look around, there are plenty of opportunities here to deepen your connection with your gifts (with my guidance.)
Intuitive strategies for surviving capitalism are the central focus of my work.
Most of the Hoodoo, cartomancy, tarot, intuition, and herbalism courses I’ve found are somehow completely divorced from the reality of the moment. Many readers are too.
